{"id":653,"date":"2025-10-27T12:35:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T09:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/odvv.ngo\/?p=653"},"modified":"2026-06-06T14:55:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T11:25:59","slug":"implementation-of-the-project-organizational-capacity-building-and-empowerment-of-specialists-supporting-refugees-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/odvv.org\/index.php\/2025\/10\/27\/implementation-of-the-project-organizational-capacity-building-and-empowerment-of-specialists-supporting-refugees-mental-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Implementation of the Project: \u201cOrganizational Capacity Building and Empowerment of Specialists Supporting Refugees\u2019 Mental Health\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Organization for Defending Victims of Violence (ODVV), in collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), has launched a project entitled \u201cOrganizational Capacity Building and Empowerment of Specialists Working with Vulnerable Refugee Communities.\u201d<br>This project aims to strengthen the organizational capacity and empower the specialists and staff members of ODVV to ensure the sustainability of psychosocial support services and to improve access of refugees \u2014 particularly vulnerable Afghan women, girls, and youth \u2014 to quality mental health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-96f5408514ad7e4f6ea5c7ae0cfb3d26 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Main Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhancing institutional and operational capacity to sustain the provision of standard mental health services to refugees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upgrading the knowledge and skills of specialists and staff in psychological, social, and managerial interventions relevant to the target community.<br>Under this project, in addition to upgrading the necessary hardware and software infrastructures, a series of specialized training programs are being provided to ODVV staff in areas such as<br>project design and proposal writing, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, documentation, archiving, and identifying international funding sources.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-80df81e42af5b29ac27f344117585951 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Background and Rationale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e8761b45e691ccb86c7f00a2995be99f wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2010, ODVV has actively participated in joint projects aimed at promoting refugees\u2019 mental health. Based on this experience, it has become evident that updating the professional knowledge of specialists and reinforcing the organization\u2019s internal capacity are essential to ensuring the long-term effectiveness of services delivered to refugee communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8ffdef518d874aaca619b8f30da4d028 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Expected Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3d1bf0d2f0a0ca716653a02e1e563221 wp-block-paragraph\">Through the implementation of this project, and in cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council, the following outcomes are anticipated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing and organizing a network of mental health professionals with up-to-date knowledge of refugees\u2019 needs and cultural contexts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empowering ODVV experts to develop operational, evidence-based proposals and reports for more effective interventions with vulnerable Afghan refugees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structuring and documenting ODVV\u2019s long-standing service experiences using modern, standardized tools and approaches;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing the required equipment and facilities to improve service delivery to the target community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4d58fa95c63d94162549baf575b166dd wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Providing essential equipment to ensure the continuity and standardization of mental health services;<br>\u2022 Enhancing the professional knowledge and intervention skills of specialists in line with the needs of refugee populations;<br>\u2022 Building staff capacity in project design, fundraising, budgeting, financial reporting, and documentation;<br>\u2022 Developing necessary infrastructures to strengthen the role and participation of stakeholders;<br>\u2022 Conducting regular monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to design effective service delivery models for refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-89965ae0ec65693490303f44fe562cd6 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Strategies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Organizing volunteer capacities and previous experiences to design efficient and fundable project models;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing digital and technical infrastructures to facilitate communication and access for refugees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing capacity-building and specialized training for professionals, staff members, volunteers, and local community liaisons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project represents an important step toward enhancing the sustainability of mental health services and strengthening the professional capacity of ODVV.<br>Through the valuable partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), it aims to expand and modernize the organization\u2019s support for
