The organizations called for the intensification of legal and judicial efforts to try the leaders of the occupying regime, to establish international tribunals and to take steps toward expelling Israel from international institutions.

Five non-governmental human rights organizations (the Scandinavian Institute for Human Rights-Geneva; the International Union of Jurists - Geneva; One Justice; the Geneva Center for Democracy and Human Rights and the International Institute for Peace, Justice and Human Rights) took up the initiative to hold, the Global People's Tribunal for Palestine in Geneva, June 6th - 8th, 2024.
According to the organizers, the Tribunal documented the crimes of the Israeli occupation and presented them before the world, in order to prosecute its perpetrators, as well as to contribute to the efforts made to prevent the recurrence of such crimes. The organizations called for the intensification of legal and judicial efforts to try the leaders of the occupying regime, to establish international tribunals and to take steps toward expelling Israel from international institutions. More than ten lawyers, judges, jurists and prominent international figures participated in the Geneva Tribunal including: Anwar Al-Gharbi, director of the Geneva Center for Democracy and Human Rights; Dr. Haitham Mana, the head of the Scandinavian Human Rights Institute; human rights activist Rashad Tuan; Tunisian lawyer Najat Hadrish, Richard Falk, the former UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied territories; Alfred Zayas, international lawyer and former UN Special Rapporteur, and human rights activists from Occupied Jerusalem, Ramallah, Beirut and Cairo and other parts of the world. The Tribunal also, witnessed the testimony of international judges, lawyers, Palestinian victims from Gaza, West Bank and Jerusalem, and media specialists.
The participants demanded:
• Enabling universal jurisdiction and immediate trial for perpetrators of war crimes.
• Making efforts to create an international regional framework to pressure Israel to stop its crimes against the Palestinians.
• Expelling Israel from international organizations, especially because anyone who tears up the UN Charter in the UN corridors should be expelled from it.
The Tribunal emphasized that the equality of victims and criminals in international courts is shameful and does not correspond to international law, which gives the people under occupation, the right to resist the occupying power by any means. The participants also asked Switzerland, as the Tribunal host and the country in which, the most important international human rights institutions are based, to hold a meeting with international community to discuss Israel's violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and value the efforts of the international boycott of the Occupation and the international organizations that support it.
