The Organization for Defending Victims of Violence (ODVV) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization in Special Consultative Status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC). The ODVV was established in 1988 in Tehran. Some of the benefits of ODVV’s 32-year work history can be summarised in the following: provision of legal and humanitarian services, holding education courses, conducting general or thematic researches by a team of experienced experts in fields needed by society, publications, transfer of experiences and an effective and influential presence in international arenas. The ODVV received its Consultative Status from ECOSOC in 1988 and since 2014 it has had a representative office in Geneva, Switzerland and has been active in the field of human rights and humanitarian activities.
The ODVV is also associated to the United Nations Department of Global Communication (UNDGC), a participatory of the NGOs Coalition for an International Court (based in New York). The ODVV is also member of the, Asia Youth Network, Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO), and the International Movement for a Just World (JUST), and International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) and AMAN Network of Middle East and North Africa Rehabilitation Centres for Torture Victims and first deputy of the Network.
We focus on various aspects of human and humanitarian rights, as well as the promotion of global peace through the control and elimination of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
