The national under 20 futsal team of Afghanistan came second in the Asian under 20 Futsal championship in Tabriz, Iran.
In the final of the tournament which was held with the attendance of Afghan national team supporters, various police protections and safety facilities were provided by the Iranian authorities to ensure the supporters safe attendance to give support for their national team.
The temporary suspension of the ban on the presence of Afghan nationals in the border provinces in the west of the country law, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) technical help in live nationwide coverage of the match by TV stations in Afghanistan, permission for Afghan women fans of the national futsal team to attend the match, provision of lodgings facilities by Tabriz’s Traktorsazi Football Club fans (as the non-capital city club with the biggest following) for Afghan supporters, allocation of special stands in the stadium for the safety of Afghan families, were all some of the facilities and supports that were provided by the Iranian government and public for Afghanistan’s national futsal team and its supporters.
Approximately 2.5 million Afghan migrants live in Iran, for whom in the last few months various laws and facilities have been set to ensure their comfortable living in Iran.
One of these facilities is allowing Afghan students to register in Iranian state schools and their undiscriminating attendance in Iranian schools. Also, based on the latest data on the number of people insured, 92,000 refugees enjoy 100% of the Iranian insurance services.
