Women's NGO Data Bank Has Been Set Up
According to ISNA, Shahindokht Molaverdi added: "According to the list that has been handed over to the Deputy for Women and Family Affairs, there are 1700 women's NGOs in the country, of course at first it was not clear how many of them are active and how many members they have."
Regarding the networking that has been made among women's NGOs the President's Deputy for Women and Family Affairs said: "We hold three day education workshops in regional sittings, and networking is taught to them in practical ways; of course this task is also pursued by not only women's affairs offices of provincial governments, but also social deputies too. In fact the social deputies and the women's affairs offices of theprovinces are the hosts of our programmes and follow up and pursue the drawn out objectives by the women's deputy for NGOs."
She added: "We have fully conducted a pathology of the first regional sitting, but the next two sittings have not had pathology. Of course the reports of the sittings will eventually get to us and will become clear the trainings given have resulted in the formation of how many networks and how effective they have been."
Molaverdi said: "according to the findings from the first regional sitting we have reached the conclusion that for the standardization of produced goods by women, we must cooperate with the Agriculture Ministry, Education and Training Ministry and the Standards Institute. Therefore a multilateral agreement was signed according to which in 9 provinces, the Standards Organization will teach carpet weaving standards, because women go through a lot of hard work to manufacture goods but it is possible that they do not have the right standards, and that is why necessary trademarks and commercialization have not been done."
