The 53rd Session of the Human Rights Council took place from 19 June to 14 July 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. Just as in the past sessions, the ODVV took part in this session.

The 53rd Session of the Human Rights Council took place from 19 June to 14 July 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. Just as in the past sessions, the ODVV took part in this session.
According to ODVV public relations, the ODVV submitted and read 5 written statements and 2 oral statements respectively. Also the Islamophobia and Violation of Human Rights sitting was one of the important activities of the ODVV in this session. The aim in holding this sitting, which took place at the same time as the review of Item 9 on the subject of racism and Islamophobia, was to deal with the recent defamation of the Koran in Sweden.
ODVV representatives also met a number of UN special rapporteurs in this session and exchanged views.
